This issue should appeal to vintage collectors, because it has a list of specs for every major brand of mountain bike in 1985
Category: MTB Archive Posts
This is where I post vintage materials from the Mountain Bike Legacy Project, which primarily covers the years from 1970 to 1990.
There is no order here other that what I found in the files recently. I tried to collect every printed word about mountain biking before 1990, when it became impossible to keep up. Now I am happy to share it with anyone who finds the site.

Bicycling, August 1985
My friend Gavin Chilcott made the cover in the days before helmets were mandatory on cover shots. The editors visit California to try to figure out this mountain bike thing. Editor Chuck McCullagh opines.
Cyclist, August 1985
This issue had several interesting features, including the American magazine version of the Crane brothers’ mountain bike ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. Jacquie Phelan contributed a story about women in their first race. There is a review of the Schwinn Cimarron. Here is another article about the Crane brothers.

Cyclist, May 1985
This issue of Cyclist is chock full of goodies, two articles by Jacquie Phelan and one by Hank Barlow. I even left in the Rockhopper review.
