One of the great collectors of mountain bike lore, history and equipment was Jeff Archer, who was sadly killed in a traffic accident a couple of years ago, and posthumously inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Jeff had the Museum of Mountain Bike Art and Technology , otherwise known as MOMBAT, which he kept in his bicycle shop, First Flight Bikes in Statesville, NC.
His family has donated his extensive archive to the Marin Museum of Bicycling/Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, where it instantly doubles the size of the archive I have already collected. While my collection is largely consumer publications, Jeff’s is heavily weighted toward technical manuals. I can hardly wait to dive in and see what is there.
Hello. I recently bought a couple of bikes from Sam’s family.
I also recently bout a Breezer s/n 0001. I was told by the person O bought it from that it was first one out of Japan. Does Joe Breeze work with you?
It would be interesting to hear the story on it and how that move went down. Thanks
Joe is a long-time friend, but we have no commercial interests in common, other than the fact that he wrote the foreword for my book.
You should contact him through Breezer Bikes. Joe@breezerbikes.com
